Simple Sunday Prayer
"Sell your possessions..." Luke 12:33
What good is money if our souls are empty?
How many dollars in the bank, under the mattress or invested in other corporations will finally make us happy?
What if the answer to our scarcity mindset is to liberate ourselves from everything?
Jesus says to “be dressed… be blessed… [and] be ready for the Son of Man is coming…” (Luke 12: 35-40).
Yet instead we hoard more and more with hope that will keep us secure.
Lord, forgive me for my love of money and need to provide my own security. Release me into your abundant will of grace, kindness, compassion and peace. Lead me in your ways of holding onto nothing while extending with everything. Help me make sense of this today. Amen.
