Simple Sunday Prayer
"or are we to wait ..." Matthew 11:3
Isn’t it interesting how much CHOICE we have?
We look out on the world of pain, hunger, loneliness and despair with the option to look away, shrug our shoulders or lean in with compassion, kindness and care.
Yet, it is in the choice we find true freedom, true revelation and a truly new way to be.
“Are you the one, the light, the way? Or should we continue to wait, wishing, hoping, refusing to believe salvation has met me right here, in my face?”
When asked this question by those who dare to come close, Jesus replies, “Look at what you see: the sick are well, the hungry are full and the dead live again.”
What else do you need?
What else are you waiting to see, touch, feel and believe?
God who meets us here, in the mess, mistakes and waiting, move us now to move, push us to pursue and show up with your kindness and care no matter how messy and scary the reality of life may be. Refusing to wait, we welcome what you are already up to today, and dare to seek the courage to follow your ways. Amen.
