Simple Sunday Prayer
"Paul and Silas were praying and singing..." Acts 16:24
There's something about singing that moves a soul. With hands raised and unashamed, we willingly declare aloud the presence of God right in the middle of our mere human reality.
Filled with joy or heartache, our emotional experiences both overflow like champagne bubbling out of a shaken bottle and cut so sharp you're sure there's a knife in there. The same ability opens prison doors, restores hope and shares the power of what love can move.
Oh, what a song can do…
Break our chains God. Bring us to our knees. Lift our arms and lead us to feel you in a way that makes us new, and let others witness too. In your mighty ever presence we pray. Amen.
