Simple Sunday Prayer
"Away with you, Satan!" Matthew 4:11
Surrender. Isn't that what overcoming temptation (lust, desire and ego) really amount to? Surrender.
Not to the thing you know is no good for you. Not to the voices of fear and doom. Not to yourself need to be needed, wanted, valued and applauded. But surrender still, to God over me.
Loving God, I surrender to you. I give up on figuring out my way. I let go of old chains, declaring “Satan! Get away!”, so that, I may live in your unending grace. Amen
