Simple Sunday Prayer
"so that... your joy may be complete." John 15:11
Joy? This is Christ's hope for us? For me?
My joy, complete.
And yet disconnection feels more safe, hiding in the shadows, walking by hoping they all fail to notice my inability to be seen.
Is this what Jesus means?
Or did he promise something so much more…
Ever present God who is always working more for me than against, open my eyes to see the connection, friendship, acceptance and adoration you have aligned surrounding me. As I open my heart to all you are providing in the scary people near, I choose to receive the joy you have for me over continued fear. Amen.
