What Do You Believe?
How Connection, Encouragement & Accountability Change Everything
Last summer I jumped. Not off a building, or into a lake or even off a diving board into the cool, crisp waters of the deep end. I jumped out of my current situation into one unknown and uncharted yet sure to bring me a different reality, which is just what I needed.
It wasn’t the first time, but it was over due.
I have this pesky habit of daring to dream about more beautiful and true realities. I don’t despise it; it has saved me multiple times:
From a violent home and domestic abuse cycle into self worth and shared love.
From manipulation and abuse disguised as devotion and companionship to true respect, humility and friendship.
From a job with meaning yet not meant for me to wild and wonderful realities.
From “get out of hell” faith to deep devotion, whole being worship and a real relationship with God of perfect provision, protection and persistent pursuit to share God’s will with me.
Jumping usually leads to great things.
After a decade in local church ministry, watching God create something out of nothing and bearing fruit sweeter and more real than anything I could have created on my own, something started stirring. Well, maybe churning like an upset stomach unable to handle the sticky pancakes despite their promise to be gluten free, or how my Texas tummy always reacts to the freshest of greasy and spicy Mexican food.
What started as curiosity and mindful awareness of how much hope, connection and help was needed beyond our church doors, quickly soured to anger, resentment and unquenchable fatigue from ongoing maintenance and reaching back for what we used to be. While every church I served had loving, honest and able to dream believers sitting in the pews and plastic chairs, we all agreed:
Jesus had more in store.
More people in the room? Sure.
More kids participating? Yes.
More Holy Spirit fire stirring up a new thing? Well, that’s where it got tricky.
You see, new things are scary, especially when initiated and instigated by God directly. I couldn’t seem to move the needle on established communities to seek much more than what they had known before. New things were even more scary when they suggested letting go of what they used to know. Even if the flame is small and easily contained, new things can be hard to accept when they come with a side of CHANGE.
Though I knew God was already creating something new, I couldn’t seem to get the people I preached to, communed with and shared life with to also boldly move. After five years of sharing the Good News with emphasis on Jesus’ call to “GO” I finally decided I would be the one to go first. I decided playing a victim and making others out to be a villain wouldn’t work anymore, so I jumped off the deep end, leaving local church ministry to pursue something new. Tangled up in my fear was also confidence that if it was the worst decision of my life, God would provide enough grace to get me back to where I was called to be.
What did I jump into?
Nothing, at first. Lots of resting, dreaming, ruminating on what I hoped life would bring. Then, I got serious, stopped moping and started to remember the dreams God has already inspired in me.
Since leaving the first church I helped plant, I dreamed of creating a new kind of faith community, centered around relationships instead of a worship service. I longed to create what I needed and had briefly tasted in sporadic spaces. Once I started reaching beyond sanctuaries and stained glass rooms, I met many others who dared to move, branch out and start something new. I was generously inspired and welcomed by the entrepreneurial and business community, while reminded regularly:
God is working in all people, all places and all things, always.
As I met more and more amazing women with daring dreams and the courage to share, I knew I wanted to raise the tent pole for these women to see one another, celebrate their unique stories and come alongside each other for the journey.
In my soloprenurial path, I needed connection to inspire new ideas and confirm I was a real human, not simply a bot behind a screen daily. I needed encouragement for the courage it took to dare to dream, and for others to celebrate with me my wild vision becoming reality. I also needed accountability, those willing to repeat back to me what I knew to be true, especially on the days I was the last to believe it.
From this desire and lots of conversations about what women need, She Believes Community began to take form, including a failed partnership and first name failure, proving even the wildest of dreams deserve edits.
Today, She Believes Community is more than an idea, hope or dream. It’s a reality.
She Believes Community is launching this Fall (2026), with preview meetings happening this Summer for prospective members and partners to come and see what this community is becoming. Brand Ambassadors invite local businesses to serve as verified and vetted resources committed to helping women bring bold vision to reality and Event Sponsors ensure She Believes Community launches with an extended reach.
By focusing on gathering regularly, in public spaces for story sharing, offering Learning Circles of wisdom sharing and Peer Partnerships of one to one accountability, She Believes Community empowers women to dare to dream and believe in God sized dreams already becoming a reality.

The best part, She Believes Community is not something new, different or in competition with what I have done before, pastoral ministry, coaching and consulting. In fact, it’s an extension of my call beyond and into the lives of people hungry for hope, ready for resources and seeking community today.
It is only by the love and liberation of Jesus Christ I am able to fathom this possibility, and take a leap into the deep in order to see it become reality. I welcome continued prayers, inspired partnerships and applause from other dreamers willing to bring bold vision to reality too!
God has amazing things already stirring in you.
Where will you let them lead?
